Our client, a family in Wanaka, approached us with a clear vision. A kitchen that was both highly functional for everyday life and aesthetically. Their brief centered on creating a space with a large amount of space to move around it, discreet but easily accessible storage while still being stylish. The client also wanted a ‘soft palette with warm earthy tones’ that is connected to the natural landscape surrounding their home. The goal was to achieve a feeling of calmness and modernness.

Chosen for its beautiful sage green blended with soft neutral tones, this material provides a smooth matte ‘Naturale’ finish. It perfectly established the soft palette briefed by our client, the warmth and serenity aligned with our earthy aesthetic. 

This stunning stone, with its striking veins, was the perfect match for Melteca and the soft rounded end of the island. Its light and airy look combined with all the other elements instantly brightened the whole kitchen.

The fluted design of the island served as a key visual anchor. Adding not only a visual interest but also featured a soft, rounded end to contributing to the family friendly and inviting atmosphere. 

These doors keep everything neatly tucked away but are easy to open when you need them, the hidden pantry fitted to our client’s brief for large storage to be easily accessible but hidden. The minimal look lets the benchtop shine while keeping the space looking clean and tidy.

The outcome

The completed kitchen is a testament to thoughtful design, successfully translating the client’s needs into a tangible, beautiful reality. It's spacious, family friendly and everything has its own spot. The soft earthy colours create a lovely connection with the outdoors, making it a calm hub for daily life.
